During a rally in Pennsylvania, former President Donald Trump criticized Vice President Kamala Harris’ new economic plan, questioning why she hadn’t implemented her ideas while in office. At the same time, Harris’ running mate, Tim Walz, attended an event in Nebraska, where he highlighted his Midwestern background and drew comparisons between himself and Trump, as well as the Republican vice-presidential candidate, JD Vance.
Harris and Walz are set to begin a bus tour in Pennsylvania on Sunday, ahead of the upcoming Democratic National Convention. This move shows their campaign’s intent to focus on the state.
Recent polls suggest a close race between Harris and Trump in several Sun Belt states, with no clear leader emerging in Arizona, Nevada, or North Carolina, while Trump holds a slight lead in Georgia.
The first debate between Harris and Trump is scheduled for September 10 in Philadelphia, with a debate between Vance and Walz set for October 1.
